Glenwood is a village in Cook County Illinois and a south suburb of Chicago. The population is estimated at 9,000 people. Glenwood has a total area of 3.12 square miles of land. The Glenwood Shoreline, an ancient shoreline of Lake Chicago, is within the village and the village is almost completely surrounded by forest preserves. Nearby and neighboring villages include Thornton Illinois, Homewood, Lynwood, Ford Heights and Chicago Heights. Public schools in Glenwood include Longwood Elementary School, Hickory Bend Elementary School, Brookwood Middle School, and Brookwood Junior High School. In 1903, about 500 residents incorporated the village. Through the 1950s, Glenwood was a smaller village. Population peaked with the booming construction of 3,000 homes between 1960 and 1980 and the population raised to about 10,500. Along with the growth in population, came the growth of diversity within the community, leading to the cultural village that Glenwood remains to be today.

RENTING YOUR PROPERTY
1. In order to begin renting out a property, the landlord is to complete the Annual Rental Inspection form, Landlord License Agreement, & Crime Free Addendum before an inspection can be scheduled.
2. The Village will not accept partial paperwork; rental inspections can not be scheduled until all paperwork has been completed in its entirety.
3. The Village WILL NOT inspect vacant properties without an existing or prospective tenant on file. Only landlords with tenants will be allowed to schedule an inspection.
