Homer Glen is a village in Will County Illinois and is located 32 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The village was incorporated on April 17, 2001. For 150 years after the first Yankee settlers arrived, Will County's Homer Township remained essentially rural. In 1988, residents proposed a new municipality to provide services and control development in the township's suburbanizing eastern half.
