Posen is a village in Cook County, Illinois. Posen is the German-language name for the western Polish city of Poznań. Posen was settled by Dutch and German farmers during the second half of the 19th century. The village progressed as a place largely inhabited by factory workers. In the 1930s, the population of Posen was 98% comprised of Polish origin. The population of Posen today stands at approximately 6,000 people and has a total square footage of 1.17 miles of all land.
